🔔 Board Member Changes
We'd like to inform you of recent changes to our HOA Board of Directors. Due to personal circumstances, Julia Siewit and Nancy Johnson have stepped down from their positions. We extend our gratitude for their contributions to our community during their tenure.
In response to these vacancies, the board has appointed interim members (per the HOA bylaws) to ensure continuity and effective governance. These positions will be open for future elections when the term is up.
Leslie Johnston, Vice President: Leslie has been a homeowner in Lincoln Village since 2009 and a resident of Willow Glen for 35 years. She has been an active volunteer within our community, assisting with parking passes and supporting former board member Tom Fisher with various tasks. Leslie's extensive experience in High Tech and Construction management, coupled with her dedication to community development, makes her an invaluable addition to our board.
Nicole Letellier, Treasurer: Nicole brings over 12 years of homeownership experience and a background as a retired Certified Public Accountant specializing in Non-Profit Accounting. She is passionate about maintaining our common areas and ensuring our association's financial health. Nicole's commitment to excellence aligns perfectly with our mission of creating and maintaining an appealing, cohesive community.
Please join us in welcoming Leslie and Nicole to their new positions on the board. We're confident that their expertise and dedication will serve our community well as we continue working together for the betterment of Lincoln Village. If you have any questions or concerns, please join us at the next board meeting.
🚔 Community Safety
Your vigilance is crucial in maintaining the safety of our community. If you notice anything suspicious, please report it promptly. We rely on Valiant Security for regular monitoring, but please note that their number operates on a relay system and may not be answered until after six rings. If you encounter any suspicious activity, don't hesitate to contact Valiant Security at (408) 649-8386. Remember, in case of emergency, contact the police immediately. Let's work together to keep our community safe.
⛳️ Join or Start a Committee
Are you passionate about how we manage the pool, gutters, or our finances? Actively contribute to positive change by joining a committee! This is your chance to generate ideas, propose them to the board with support, get bids for work you want the community to consider, and ensure that your input gains momentum. It's a great opportunity to get engaged, participate in decision-making, and contribute to the community– through a financial committee, social committee, pool committee, or suggest any other task force team that interests you. Together, we can make our community even better!
🏖️️ Pool Updates
As summer approaches, discussions have arisen about improving our pool experience, particularly through the implementation of our solar pool heating system. Once our pool pumps have been initiated to start to work with our solar system, the water is pumped up the solar panel and as it travels through the panels, is heated by the sun and flows back down to our pool. Consistent sunny days and warm nights will help increase water temperature.
Our pool vendor has indicated that while the solar panels are scheduled for activation in mid-May, earlier activation may not yield significant results due to weather conditions. Additionally, he has cautioned that the panels may not immediately produce enough warmth to noticeably impact our 27,000-gallon pool. That’s a lot of water to heat with just a few solar panels– most private homeowners have a combination solar and solar blankets to achieve an overall warmer pool temperature, but we as a public pool are unable to use solar covering on either the pool or spa due to the Pool Safety Act.
🚨 Visitor Parking Usage
We kindly remind you that utilizing visitor parking as daily parking spots impacts the availability of these spaces for our visitors. It's essential to prioritize these spots for actual visitors who require temporary parking for proximity work, visits, or otherwise. Thank you for being mindful of your neighbors and community.
🚘 Parking Passes
Need a parking pass? Simply pick up your permit at the local CIMS office. For urgent requests or short notice pickups, reach out to our dedicated volunteer and board member, Leslie Johnston, at (408) 644-3930.
🍂 Gutter Cleaning
As we approach the time for gutter cleaning this fall, we want to provide some insight into the process. Our gutter cleaning service involves the removal of gutter guards every few yards to ensure thorough debris removal and gutter cleaning, especially in heavily soiled areas. Stay tuned for more information on timing.
🌳 Private Tree Trimming
Our arborist is trimming community trees later this year. It’s a good opportunity for individual homeowners to have their privately owned trees trimmed (located between houses or in fenced-in backyards), since we get a community discount. Stay posted for more details on timing and how to schedule your private service.
🔑 FOB Verification
The association will conduct, in the near future, a key fob inventory to ensure proper tracking of access to community amenities, particularly the pool. This aims to reduce misuse and maintain security standards. Please stay tuned for an upcoming flyer with further details.
